Wallington & Carshalton Chess Club was founded in 1895. It has been a constant member of the Surrey County Chess Association and has entered teams in the Surrey League for many years. Please see the history page for more details on the history of this club.

From Thursday, 4th June 2009 we have a new venue: Sutton Highfields Lawn Tennis Club,  Mayfield Road, Sutton, Surrey, SM2 5DT. A link to the Tennis Club website is here. Club nights are Thursdays and we aim to arrive by 7:30pm prompt to set up our boards. We can boast a growing membership with a wide range of abilities from beginner to master, as well as a large age range.

Although we play many serious games against other clubs in the local leagues and against one another, we do also have time for friendlies (slow and quickplay) and often meet up to travel to weekend tournaments and visit pubs and curry houses; all in the name of chess!
